Level III Trauma Center
Our facility is the first hospital in McKinney and Northern Collin County to be designated as an Advanced (Level III) Trauma Center by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
As an Advanced Level III Trauma Center, our facility has specialized, dedicated resources available to manage major and severe injuries. We are staffed with a comprehensive team of surgeons, specialists, nurses and support members that receive specialized training in trauma care. We partner with local EMS personnel to provide education in caring for trauma patients in the field.
Primary Stroke Center
The Primary Stroke Center at Medical City McKinney is accredited by The Joint Commission and has achieved Gold Standard Plus recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) for its stroke care.
Chest Pain Center
Medical City McKinney is a Level III Chest Pain Center (CPC) accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC). Hospitals accredited by the SCPC are required to undergo rigorous testing and process improvement to become an elite facility with a staff that thoroughly understands how to treat patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.
Clinical Decisions Unit
Medical City McKinney’s Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is a place where emergency patients receive careful observation for up to 23 hours. Patients admitted to the CDU can receive further monitoring, diagnostic procedures and nursing care.
Medical City ER Stonebridge
Medical City ER Stonebridge, an extension of Medical City McKinney, is a full-service emergency room staffed with board-certified and board eligible emergency physicians open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week located at 8995 W. University Drive (corner of Hwy 380 & Custer).
In an effort to ensure the community’s pediatric patients and their families receive the best and most comprehensive family-centered care, Medical City McKinney Emergency Department has recently formed a partnership with Medical City Children’s Hospital. Key initiatives of this partnership include ongoing training of Medical City McKinney’s emergency nurses and other staff members regarding pediatric emergency care and transport protocol.
